Opening it the first time

macOS .dmg

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg.
  2. Drag Jig into your Applications folder.
  3. Open Jig from Applications or Launchpad, then sign in.

If macOS says it can’t verify Jig: open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway (one time only). We’re finishing Apple notarization.

Windows .exe

  1. Run the downloaded .exe.
  2. Jig installs and opens. Find it later in the Start menu.
  3. Sign in to start your first project.

If SmartScreen warns about an “unknown publisher”, click More info, then Run anyway. We’re getting a code-signing certificate.

Linux .AppImage

  1. Make it executable: chmod +x Jig-*.AppImage
  2. Run it: ./Jig-*.AppImage
  3. Sign in to start your first project.

Jig keeps keys in your keychain through libsecret. Most desktops include it; if yours doesn’t, install libsecret (for example gnome-keyring).

What you need

macOS
macOS 12 Monterey or later, on Apple Silicon or Intel.
Windows
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.
Linux
An x64 desktop. libsecret for the keychain.
An AI coding assistant
An AI coding assistant such as Claude Code or OpenAI Codex, or an enterprise API key through Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI or Microsoft Foundry. opencode works too, for OpenRouter, Google, Groq or local models. Jig detects what you have and shows the commands to install the rest.

After you install

  1. Sign in

With Google, Microsoft, GitHub or email. Accounts are free, and your projects stay on your computer.

  2. Connect your AI

Jig finds Claude Code or OpenAI Codex if it is installed and signed in. Otherwise it walks you through it, or connects your company’s Bedrock, Vertex AI or Foundry account, or an API key kept in your keychain.

  3. Describe the app you need

Answer a few questions, pick a look, approve the plan, and watch it build in a folder under ~/Jig.

Jig checks for updates on its own and asks before installing them.

One short email when a new version or a new platform ships. Nothing else.
